MORNING PRAYER (July 23, 2009)

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,

the Author and Perfecter of our faith,

who for the joy set before Him endured the cross...

Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men,

so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

(Hebrews 12:2 & 3, NIV)

My prayer for today is that all eyes be fixed on the Author and Perfecter of our faith, and that mankind finds joy and peace in the midst of heartache and suffering.

Lord, please bless each of us with a faith that cannot be shaken. Should we grow weary and lose heart, remind us what Christ endured - the Cross. Take us there and help us to understand His unconditional, redeeming love. I ask this of You in Jesus' Name.

Fix your eyes on Jesus,

and know that what He's done,

is free you from the power

of the evil one.

Author and Perfecter

of our faith is He,

Jesus, our Redeemer,

forever will He be.

Sweet Jesus, thank You for enduring the Cross for us, and for bringing joy to our hearts. Amen.
