MORNING PRAYER - The Message of the Cross of Christ

The message of the Cross of Christ sounds foolish "to those who are lost when they hear that Jesus died to save them. But we who are saved recognize this message as the very power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18, The LB-Paraphrased). This so-called 'foolish' plan of God is far wiser than the wisest plan of the wisest man" (1 Corinthians 1:25, The LB-Paraphrased).

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to free us from our sins. You have enriched our lives. We now have "every grace and blessing; every spiritual gift and power for doing His will...during this time of waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 1:7, The LB-Paraphrased). It is through Your power and grace that we are given strength, faith and hope - It is through Your love that we are blessed with Your Spirit, who directs our path to eternal life when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Thank You for opening our eyes
"to see that Christ is the mighty power of God ...Christ Himself is the center of God's wise plan for salvation" (1 Corinthians 1:24, The LB-Paraphrased).

...Thank You for saving us, Jesus...We pray in Your name. Amen.
