MORNING PRAYER (June 9, 2009)

"The Lord is my Shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul."
(Psalm 23:1-3, NIV)

The Lord provides for our souls each day because He loves us. He feeds our spirits what they need from His Heavenly bounty, and allows us to rest in Him as He restores our souls. Never should we know fear when we walk with the Lord, as He is our Provider, our Protector, our Shelter.

The Lord is our Shepherd
and we are His sheep.
He leads us to grasslands
where we rest and sleep.
It's there we lie down
in pastures of green,
as He washes our souls
and makes them all clean.
God tends to our needs
with affection and care;
there's no other Master
whose love can compare.
He's Creator and Ruler
of all living things;
Our Father in Heaven
is King of all kings.
Thank You, Lord, that we are never in want when we walk with You...through Jesus Christ. Amen.
