MORNING PRAYER (July 6, 2009)

"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life,

but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit."

(Proverbs 15:4, NIV)

I pray the words I speak from my heart always be truthful, and spoken with kindness. May they serve as a tree of life that heals, not crushes, the spirit on whom they fall.

Make my tongue speak pleasing words

that soothe and heal the heart.

Don't let deceitful words come forth

that pull the spirit apart.
